Season 1 Episode 60: Games for studying History - Part 2

This video lesson features examples of four games that teach history. The selected games have smaller media circles and advertising budgets than major releases. On the other hand, they offer excellent historical content and are very entertaining. The video has two objectives. The first is to dispel the misconception that games are merely childish entertainment without substance. The second is to raise awareness of the fact that historical readings and discourses are present in various media and consumer products, not just textbooks, technical books, specialized publications, and documentaries. The following games were used: Valiant Hearts (Ubisoft, 2014), Expeditions Viking (Logic Artists, 2017), Kingdom Come: Deliverance (Warhorse, 2018), and Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth (Daedalic Entertainment, 2017).
