SHAN asks YIN whether it ever occurs to her that she can save BUT by turning herself in to the empress. YIN tells her Highness that the daughter of the death row inmate is in Cheung Lai Yuen now. She hopes that the empress will release BUT, who can then probe into the matter. Everybody at Cheung Lai Yuen except YAN is pleased to see BUT again. YIN lies that she has asked for the empress’ leniency in the capacity of the daughter of a general. With the excuse that her mother is not feeling well, SHAN applies for a leave. On the other hand, she apologizes to her mother for failing to do her justice and for having to flee. FA does not blame her though, as she also agrees that nothing comes more important than saving BUT at the moment. WAN has almost been disqualified. She blames YUEN for telling YUET her health problem. BUT and YAN take the drawing of a pendent and FA’s portrait to an embroidery shop. YIN sees them.… ...
