Season 2 Episode 16: Double Mystery Box

Junior MasterChef 2011’s Top 8 returned to the kitchen for a Mystery Box Challenge with a twist. Under the main box was a set of fresh ingredients, and beneath a smaller box, another selection that contestants had to use if they dared to lift the lid. Most played it safe, but those who gambled shone, especially Zac, whose lamb’s liver dish earned second place. Greta’s beetroot salad came third, while Lily won six points with her lemon delicious dessert. The second challenge was a Tag‑Team cook‑off inside a boxing ring. The boys, led by Colin Fassnidge, and the girls, led by Miguel Maestre, had one hour to recreate George’s barramundi and fettuccine, each cooking 15 minutes while captains could tag in for 90 seconds. A pasta mishap nearly cost the boys the win, but Anna and Matt awarded them top marks for taste.
