The day's other games saw former Crystal Palace manager Tony Pulis return to Selhurst Park with his current side West Brom, while Chelsea welcomed Southampton to Stamford Bridge. Elsewhere, Aston Villa hosted Stoke, Leicester travelled to Norwich, Sunderland entertained West Ham and Premier League new boys Bournemouth and Watford met on the south coast.
