Lacho does not tell him anything. Jankibai tries to point out to Gangadhar that from the time he decided to marry Manu, his life has been in danger. Motibai is worried that Lacho might name her as a conspirator. Manu sends a letter to Gangadhar Rao praising Motibai and her bravery. Motibai feels guilty.
