Nari Sena's vigilant watch on Janki Bai and the infant's death alerted Laxmi Bai. Moti Bai had also shared her suspicions about the 'dhol' player with Laxmi Bai. Gangadhar makes Janki Bai drink the poisoned milk, and she dies. Before breathing her last, Janki Bai states that she is not alone in this conspiracy.
