Daniel is surprised when Jess refuses to move in with him. She feels pushed out of the family by Lou and demands that Daniel make sure she’s welcome in the new blended family. Daniel sets off to see Lou. Lou, on the other hand, is confused as to why her childhood sweetheart, Per, simply dumped her. But familiarity wins out, and they grow closer again. When Per invites her to Gran Canaria, she declines, but still manages to share a tender moment with him. And then, of all times, Daniel arrives... Simon and Valerie are finally a couple. Gisela wants to celebrate and gathers the family. Jonas dreams of no longer having to work so he can spend more time with Toni. When he hears about frugalism from Gerd—saving now and living off the interest later—he convinces Toni to invest her savings for the long term. But Valerie has gambled away Toni’s savings.
