With his special status in Hong Kong, even the newly appointed Colonial Secretary ROBERTSON holds him in high regard. MAN’s second wife, YEE-YIN, also a former princess of the fallen Qing Dynasty, gets insulted by a local rich man and a Caucasian guy in public. Seriously offended, MAN gives the men a lecture at once and urges the westerner to apologize to YIN in Chinese. MAN’s first and third wives, KOO SUM-LAN and YIK YEE-FONG, who have been waiting for YIN in the temple for a whole day, are starting to lose their temper.
