He meets his countrymen in secret and encourages them to keep up the struggle until he reclaims the throne. TSIN leads a frugal life in Yuet so as to remind himself of all his humiliations while serving under CHAI. He learns from LUK YING that FUNG has been spying on him. To make CHAI less vigilant towards him, TSIN leaves the affairs of state to CHUNG and pretends that he is fooling around day in and day out. The rulers of Chan, Sung and Cheng who owe LAI a debt of gratitude agree to offer help without hesitation....
